A very Merry Christmas to you and your families! We are in Colorado and are enjoying a White Christmas!!! So beautiful! Last night we went to the chapel on the mountain at Beaver Creek and attended Christmas Eve service with a packed house of merry folks. It was a neat and worshipful Christmas experience with all the carols, snow, lights and even a snow cat driving by the windows.
May your eyes be on the baby Jesus and all that is His precious birth. A gift to save his children from their sins!!
"An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,"Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived inher is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
Our KMC VP dinner at the newly opened Miramont Country Club in honor of Charles' (my boss) retirement finally came and went Friday evening after weeks of anticipation and planning. It was a lovely and fun evening with lots of sentiment and good cheer for all that Charles has done for KMC over the last 23 years.
On Sunday we drove up to Italy to meet Owen for the first time. First we went by PaPa and Paula's for lunch before heading to the Owens' house. It was nice to see them for a bit. Owen is the most precious little guy ever. He's just over 2 weeks old now. He was so sweet and let us all hold him. Christie and Dave are so blessed to have such an angel! We also had fun getting to see Emily, one of the cutest toddlers around!
We had a full house the weekend of the Iowa State game. Our good friends, the newly married Bradfords, came to visit. We also had the Bollines staying with us, they were in town for Amy's ring dunking, which was a lot of fun. We had a fajita cookout and lots of fun enjoying everyone's company. It was a great weekend and we had a lot of fun cheering on Amy. She did great!
Finally after 5 long months away at "school" our baby girl Reagan has returned home to us. Kelsey , Kenny, & I could not be happier. She is the sweetest puppy dog, she truly has a happy way about her. And on top of that she's a duck hunting machine!
It's November now and this time every year we take time to remember everything we have to be thankful for. Even though we should be just as thankful for the blessings in our lives all year long, this is a good time to sit back and take stock of all the things we take for granted and to see just how much our Heavenly Father cares for us and provides for us.
I have so many things to be thankful for but to summarize those things that mean the most:
Most importantly Jesus Christ for giving himself up so that His children might live. You aren't truly alive until you can see the price that was paid, why it was paid, and then to just surrender yourself. Now that experience is so much more than just a blessing.
Second is marriage, to have a spouse that loves you unconditionally and is someone to journey through life with, to wake up and know that you aren't alone in the world and God has met that need in your life through another person, word's just can't describe that fully.
Third is family and it's just amazing how many people today are not close to their own families. It is a huge gift to be able to spend time with them, to be able to enjoy their company so much and to have support from people who truly care about you. And then when you get married, you truly know you're blessed when your family grows to include so many more wonderful people that all those good things just multiply.
And finally friends, what can your really say to describe those true friends that make you laugh, the ones that you can be apart from for months on end and then just pick back up right where you left off. True Friends know the difference between your good moods and when you are just putting on a happy face, and they love you either way.
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!"
