Too many pictures?

Do you think I take/post too many pictures? I just can't get enough of them!

Uh Oh, looks like we have a climber in the house!!

If we put Andrew in the trainer backwards the speed is much slower and he will take steps at his own pace. He's getting a little more confident every day. But he's setting his own course like he always has and that's fine by me. Andrew's development is a marathon, not a sprint! My little champion!

Just some photos

Adam is really getting good at using the gate trainer. Hopefully he'll take off on his own pretty soon.

I've done a lot of shopping by myself with the boys in their stroller but I've never been brave enough to take them on a full grocery shopping trip with a shopping cart all on my own before. I felt like I was pushing a train but the boys had a good time and we were able to fit all the groceries into the Prius with room to spare (inspite of the duoglider being in there)!

I finally turned Andrew's car seat around even though my goal was to hold off until he was 25 lbs but he is SO happy and I love being able to see him. Plus in the new car they are so much closer to me that I think we are all happy to be able to exchange quick little grins and a pat on a chubby little leg every so often.

We got to eat a special lunch Saturday with our friends Jackson, Abbey and their mom!

Here are two cute pics from today. I just love my sweet, adorable boys so very much! They are such good babies and are so happy and fun. Sometimes I just can't believe how blessed I am to be their Mama.

By the way, several inquiring minds have asked how I like the new Prius. And . . . . I LOVE IT!! It's surprisingly fun to drive around, very zippy. There is a screen on the dash that tells you whether you are using or creating power and all your average/current mpg's and has a diagram of the battery/gas powered engine showing the power flow. It almost makes you feel as if you are in some weird conservation video game. The car is very comfortable and quiet and after putting 80 miles on it my gas tank is still on full. I really can't say enough good things about it.

Happy Birthday Uncle Stevie!!

We love you!!

It's cool to be Green, don't ya know??

I've gone Green, well perhaps red is more accurate.

I never thought I'd own a red car much less a hybrid but today I downsized to a Toyota Prius. With gas approaching staggering prices the accountant in me likes the idea of getting 48 mpg. Plus it's surprisingly roomier than you'd ever guess. I was able to install both car seats in the back seat next to each other leaving some room for 2 passengers (one in front and one in back) in addition to the driver. And I was shocked to find that my gianormous duo glider stroller fit in the back, I thought for sure I'd have to switch to my smaller but less pleasant umbrella stroller. We are still holding on to the roomy family expedition, which I love other than the gas mileage, because there is no way my car will hold two porta cribs and luggage for overnight trips. But since the majority of the time I drive without hauling a load, I'll feel better about being in the Prius.

"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
Psalm 46:10

Andrew got a wonderful report today from the neurologist. In his own words "He looks FANTASTIC!!" Praise be to God! Cognitive and social abilities are right on track and although he can make no promises, at this point he sees no reason why Andrew won't be able to attend mainstream classes in school.

By definition Andrew does have mild hemiplegic cerebral palsy but he is so impressed with the progress that he's made over the last 6 months that he expects that in a few years no one other than a doctor will likely ever be able to tell. He said it will take him an extended amount of time to learn to walk but that in time he will certainly get there. He said to keep doing what we're doing and that we are very blessed. We will go back again in 8 months for another follow up.

After the initial prognosis Andrew was given, we couldn't ask for anything better than this. God does answer prayers and we will continue to place Andrew's future in His hands.

Kelsey vs the Racoon

My brilliant dog decided to pick a 45 minute long fight with a racoon (we think that's what it was) yesterday in a culvert at the ranch. Not sure how the coon fared but Kelsey spent the night at the animal hospital where she received medicine for her scratched cornea, anti-inflamatories for the swelling on her muzzle and throat where it bit her several times, antibiotics, a rabies booster (fortunately she was up to date), and narcotics for her pain.

Now she is resting home on her bed and she's pretty sad. They put a collar on her so she won't rub her eye, which she's not happy about because she can't get under the bed where she likes to nap. The doctor said she was very lucky. Kenny just says she's an idiot. And I'm just glad it didn't cost more than it did and that she's doing alright.

Neuro Appt

Tomorrow we are headed to Texas Children's for Andrew's neurology check up and also to discuss the results of his MRI. Praying for good news!

Our March for Babies Poster

I finally got a chance to make Adam & Andrew's poster for the March for Babies walk route to represent their journey. Every participant in the local march can make a poster to be placed along the path during the big event. You guys are AMAZING, we are getting closer to our goal!! If you've considered sponsoring Adam & Andrew, now is the time to do it!!! Thanks to everyone for helping us to save other babies!!

This is how Adam likes to sit these days, legs crossed!

Weekend at the Coast

We had a fun little vacation to the coast of the Gulf of Mexico this past weekend. We rented a beach house with some friends on the inner coastal canal. Kenny got to do some good wade fishing and the babies enjoyed playing with everyone.
The weather was perfect!!

Assisted Technology

Andrew had a big breakthrough at Rehab this week! He has finally mastered getting into sitting. It may not sound like that big of a deal for most babies but for Andrew it was a big accomplishment due to the weakness in his trunk muscles that he's had to work so hard to strengthen. I'm SO proud of him as he continues to fight hard for everything.

The rehab center sent us home with these miniature pediatric walkers / gait trainers on loan to us until no longer needed. One is a push walker and one is a pull walker. They are so tiny and cute, it's hard to believe they make stuff this small. Andrew is not quite ready yet but he'll get there soon I think. Adam on the other hand, who has refused to take more steps since he took his first, was very excited about the walkers and practically ran around the house with them. Hopefully this will boost his confidence to start walking all on his own soon. The push walker is like a scaled down version of the ones you see older people using so seeing Adam with it cracked me up, he reminded me of a little old bald man. Too cute!
