I was watching my boys play today on the back porch and every so often they would look up at me and grin. I just love these two little guys and I'm really so blessed to be their mama.

This past Saturday I helped host a baby shower for friends and family to help Dana & Shawn celebrate and prepare for the arrival of baby Ben due April 12st. Dana got lots of cute stuff. We can't wait to meet our new nephew!

Andrew's new AFO's finally arrived. We went with the sports themed ones with blue foam and black straps. I'm pleased with how they turned out. We are now waiting for his shoes to be fitted with a lift on the left shoe and then he'll be ready to go.

A few photos to add to my future black mailing file. I laughed so hard when I noticed Adam had raided my dresser drawers and was now trying to figure out how to wear this funny hat.

Twin Brothers, Best Friends

Tomorrow I'm speaking at a Kick Off Luncheon for the March of Dimes. We will be sharing our story with the local corporate sponsors. I love getting to Praise God for his work in our lives and to share his miracles with others and to help increase awareness for premature birth, but I hate public speaking, it's just not my thing. I'll write about it any day of the week, but talking is entirely different. I hope I don't totally stink ;-).

Smooth Sailing

The boys did great this morning getting their ear tubes. They were both really woosy when they woke up and I don't know what it is but something about watching someone coming out of anesthesia is a tad comical when you aren't the one that's been under. Adam kept tipping his head backwards and then gobbled down an entire package of cheese crackers. Andrew was given a shot of demerol due to the biopsy on his foot and he was especially out of it and grumpy. He'd be cuddly one second and then kicking the next.

Once we got home we ate some pudding and then cuddled in my bed while we watched Sesame Street. After lunch the boys went down for a nap and Andrew is still asleep 3 hours later. Adam has had quite a bit of blood come out one ear and both of Andrew's are bleeding. The ENT said their ears were in pretty bad shape so he's expecting them to have quite an improvement in how they feel now. I hope so!!

Tube Time!

We have to be at the surgical center at 7am tomorrow for the boys to have their ear tubes put in. I'm sure it will go smooth and easily but we'd appreciate your prayers just the same!

Gig'em Aggies!

If you live near Aggieland and you don't attend the Lady Aggie Basketball games, then you are seriously missing out on some great athletic entertainment.

Tonight the 12th ranked Aggies upset the #2 team in the nation, Oklahoma, 57-56.

The game was so exciting that even Adam & Andrew were into the action and they were really well behaved.

If you are looking for something fun to do, come out to their next & final home game of the season, March 5th when they take on Oklahoma State at 7pm. See you there!

Life with Boys

Being the mom of 2 Year Old Twin Boys is always an adventure and a learning experience. I'm so happy to be the mother of these adorable boys and I never dreamed of all the fun things we'd do together. And even though I dream of having a little bit of pink around this house someday, I'm truly enjoying my boys and all the things that make boys special. When you have Boys in the house there is never a dull moment. And you get to know a lot about:

CONSTRUCTION

This, my friends, is a giant Track-Hoe, NOT a bulldozer. When you have boys (or are related to someone that owns this stuff) you get to learn what every piece of equipment is and then you develop a pet peeve for when other people call every piece of construction equipment a bulldozer ;-).

You may also refer to it as a Big Digger or Excavator

Andrew was not a fan of the loud noise and vibration but he loves to talk about it and say "Hi Track-Hoe"

EXPLORATION

Little boys love to check stuff out and are so serious while they "work"

FOUNDATION

Don't forget to lay down a solid foundation. We poured a slab this week for a detached garage and we made a special point to put the boys hand and footprints into the slab to always remember their childhood. So special.

RELAXATION

When you have important work to do, like Adam & Andrew, it's always wise to set apart some time to rest between activites.

EXPECTATION

As a mother of boys, you have to learn that

A Little Dirt, Never Hurt!

CELEBRATION
Sometimes just having a giant puddle to play in is a good enough reason to celebrate.

ELATION

Being the mother of boys means that when they are happy, you are happy. It doesn't matter what you are doing but who you are doing it with. I never dreamed that we would be playing in the mud and splashing in the water (especially when it's cold outside) but when my kids are joyful, my heart is so full it could bust.

And it just doesn't get much better than that =-)!

Same old story . . . .

Well we landed back in the pediatricians office this week and both boys have double ear infections AGAIN!! It's barely been 10 days since they finished their last round of antibiotics and so we are now back on them trying to get well in time for getting tubes next week. Next Wednesday can't get here soon enough!

As for me, I went back to the ENT today and my ear is slowly getting better. My ear drum looks better but I still have a lot fluid. So the plan is to continue with the drops and if it doesn't get any better I'll go back and we'll either drain it again or I'll get tubes. Hopefully the infection will stay away and the fluid will dissipate and I'll be able to hear again. I'm not in any pain, it's just super annoying.

Valentine's Day!!

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. We've done more celebrating this year than we have in several years. On Thursday we had Valentine's Banquet for our MOPS group and then last night we got to drop the kids off at a local church while for a Parent's Night Out so we met up with some friends for dinner at a nice restaurant that's semi-new that we've been wanting to check out. Then today we went to the Aggie Women's Basketball BTHO Breast Cancer Event. Afterwards we celebrated my sister's birthday with the whole family at the ranch. In spite of my ear, I've been able to enjoy this weekend. The nausea got better fortunately. My ear still hasn't cleared and I feel pretty deaf but I haven't been in any bad pain except when I lay down or blow my nose (yowzer, that hurt!). So we'll see how the next 48 hours go.

I bought the boys some new swimsuits while I was in CO. They loved trying them on, especially their first flip flops!

One of the special things I let them do on the weekends is take baths in our big bathtub. They say "I Sweeeming" and "Hot-TUB" when we do this, very funny.

We have some construction projects going on here at home and the kids are loving getting to play in the dirt pile, a.k.a. "Tall Tall Mountain"
