Details on Ally's Big Day

Proud Big Brothers

Meeting Little Sister for the first time

Ally was born at 12:38 pm

I cried both before and after she was born, it was such an emotional experience. Hearing her cry just flooded my heart with joy & relief.

I was in so much pain during and after the surgery. I had a "hot spot" which is when there is a place that the anesthesia doesn't reach for some reason and it felt like the left side of my abdomen was ripping apart. The anesthesiologist felt really bad and came by to apologize but I think I'm just one of those weird people that drugs don't affect normally. So the first few days were such a blur of pain and crazy drugs as we tried to get the pain under control.

A photo from the recovery room right after my c-section. I'm so drugged and hurting right then and I looked pretty rough but my heart has never been happier! The doctors & nurses knew how I wanted to be with the baby as much as possible since I didn't get that with the boys. They brought her right back to me and I got to really hold her and nurse her for the first time soon after her birth. I'm so grateful for these special experiences that I missed the last time.

"No more photos, please!!"
Lol, she loves to have her hands over her face, we noticed that in her ultrasound pics too

They took Ally back to the nursery after I fed her. But I got to see her again, after recovery they rolled my bed through the nursery viewing area and held her up for me. I also got to see my friends & family that were out there and give my boys a wave as we headed to our room.

"It's exhausting being this cute!"

Once we were in our room we changed Ally in to her first outfit and the boys came to meet her in person. They were so excited to give her the gifts they picked out.

Ally had gifts for them too: new Star Wars Jammie's & superhero underwear ;-)

The boys gifts for Ally were so special because they matched what the boys sleep with and are so attached to. A soft baby killer whale "Shamu" from Andrew and a pink rattling "blankie" from Adam.

36 Weeks, I can't believe it!!!

Today I am 36 weeks pregnant. There were so many times when it just didn't seem possible that we'd get here, but with God ALL things are possible. I'm so thankful!!!

The past two months have been VERY long, for everyone. But they were absolutely worth it to get us to this point. Bed Rest is hard on the whole family and not fun but it was a small price to pay to help Ally get the best start possible.

I'm going to miss feeling her move and kick, I've really cherished all the things I've gotten to experience this time around and it's a little sad to know that part will be over. BUT I cannot wait to meet my little girl!!

We have been scheduled for our c-section for Wednesday the 25th, the finish line is in sight!! We'll be 36 weeks 5 days, which is just amazing! Thank you for your continued prayers, I will not be able to relax until this sweet baby girl is safely in my arms!!

I can't wait to get all these crazy drugs out of my system, hopefully I won't be so swollen then ;-).

Now for some pictures from cousin Ben's third birthday party. I was so sad to miss out but I was glad that the boys got to go and had so much fun.

Easter Photos

I was pretty much on the side lines for Easter this year. Normally we go to church as a family, eat lunch at Granny & Pa's, take a bunch of family pictures and watch the kids hunt eggs. I was really sad to miss Easter church service, but I was fortunate that Kenny gave me a temporary hall pass to go to my parents where I mainly laid on the couch. But I was just so happy to not be home alone while everyone else was together. I needed a change of scenery really bad so it was good for my morale.

Kenny took some pictures on our camera but I can only get on the Internet from my phone right now so I can't upload any of those pics just yet. So I don't have any pictures of the boys hunting eggs. But here are some from the phone and a few that Aunt Dana took on her camera.

Since I hadn't left the house in weeks the Easter Bunny didn't have much to deliver this year but fortunately the boys didn't seem to even notice. They were too excited to eat those hollow chocolate bunnies for breakfast. I'm just glad I happened to grab a few things the last time I was at Target ages ago.

Plus I knew they'd get more than enough goodies when they hunted eggs later at Granny's.

Dapper Little Dudes
Adam insisted we get these hats that coordinated with the shirts & shorts I picked out. He looked so cute in it I decided I would let him have some input. I think they both look pretty adorable in them.

35 Weeks & Counting

I've gotten several requests for an update, so YES we are still pregnant WooHoo!!!

She tried to make her debut last Friday, I was sent from my high risk appointment over to L&D with contractions steady every 2 minutes. Thankfully after getting 2 liters of iv fluids on board things began to settle down and contractions were 7 minutes apart so they sent us from L&D over to the OB's office for my 17P shot and then home. I think only in my world is "strong contractions every 7 minutes" = settled down ;-).

That was an exhausting day but by today I'm finally feeling better and having fewer contractions.

The high risk OB has advised my OB to deliver me at 37 weeks because Ally is on the "chunky" side :-) and they don't want to test the limits unnecessarily. So that means she'll be here in less than 2 weeks if we make it all the way to a scheduled c-section.

I'm simply amazed to be at this point!

Ally Michele at 35 Weeks
Projected Weight 5 lbs 15 oz !!!
Chunky Cheeks has dropped and the poor thing's face is very smooshed at the moment ;-)

Camera Pic of an Ultrasound print is not the best quality, sorry!

Her baby bedding finally arrived from etsy. The seller was stressful but the end product is gorgeous!

Way too much drama to stop and get a 35 Week Belly Pic on Friday but hopefully I'll make it to 36 Weeks and get one then. But trust me, the belly is Big ;-).
